Tinashe Matches San Francisco's Freak at The Warfield

SAN FRANCISCO — Tinashe brings her “Match My Freak” tour to The Warfield in San Francisco Sunday night.

Opening her performance with songs from her latest album, Quantum Baby, such as “Getting No Sleep” and “When I Get You Alone”, Tinashe showed those in attendance the richness of her career spanning over the last decade has resulted in popularity and recognition as a staple in today’s R&B.

Harkening to her most recent success, the crowd was enamored with performances from “Needs”, “Talk To Me Nice”, and “Uh Huh” from her BB/ANG3L EP. Over the past 5 years, Tinashe has been refining her craft as an artist from her hit songs early in her career such as “Link Up”, “Throw A Fit”, and “2 On”.

With a stage presence that is second to none, Tinashe put on a masterclass on how to give your all to a performance, vocally, visually, and with surgical precision. Closing out her San Francisco stop with “Nasty”, the crowd erupted into raucous noise before departing for the evening.

The singer-songwriter from New York, Raveena, performed dreamy beats on her third studio album, When The Butterflies Go In The Rain, released earlier this year. Donning a dress with wide sleeves, the fabrics flowed in unison as it draped across her body, evoking the essence of Stevie Nicks in her ethereal stage persona.

Influenced by R&B classics of the 90s and early 2000s, Raveena performed songs such as “Pluto”, “Lose My Focus”, and “Smile For Me”. The last song of her set, “Rise”, was dedicated to standing in solidarity with all oppressed people from Palestine to the United States.
