This past Friday, BabyJake took on The Rockwell in Somerville, MA for his Not So Beautiful Blue Colar Boy tour. He brought an energy that was absolutely contagious and brought every fan to their feet. BabyJake’s show featured two openers, Gooseberry and Noah Richardson.

Gooseberry, a Brooklyn-based band, plays a combination of alternative and indie rock. The band is coming off the release of their newest album, “All My Friends Are Cattle” and highlighted many of the songs from that album during their performance. They immediately got the crowd on their feet and moving. The band will be making a return to Massachusetts in June when they perform at Smith Family Beer Garden in Barnstable!

Next was Noah Richardson, who immediately blew me away with his uniquely smooth yet powerful voice. The Philly singer appropriately doned a Gronk jersey just for this Boston show (Thank you Noah we appreciate your sacrifice). His setlist featured a mix of older songs as well as his most recent release “Stay Down”. Richardson closed his tour with BabyJake this past Saturday in Hartford, CT.

BabyJake then hit the stage with an infectious energy that spread throughout the room. The Flordia singer brings an incredible mix of rock, indie, pop and rap influences into his music. This blend creates a set filled with excitement that never fails to liven a room. BabyJake played a mix of songs including a cover of Beast of Burden by The Rolling Stones as well as his own staples, Head in the Clouds & 239. He closed his set by blending Stairway to Heaven into his iconic hit Cigarettes on Patios.

An aspect of BabyJake that always stuck out to me as a listener and concertgoer was the interactions he has with his fans. Whether it is going into the crowd for a song, playing a song that a fan requested, or staying after to shows to sign autographs and chat with fans, it is clear that this is an artist who loves what he does and wants to genuinely take the time to thank his supporters.

Tonight BabyJake continues his tour in Detroit, Michigan, promoting his most recent album “Not So Beautiful Blue Collar Boy”. The album can be heard on all streaming platforms and a limited-edition vinyl printing can be ordered at ItsBabyJake.com.
