Gary Numan and Morgan Sorne both left a scorching hot mark on Berkeley California when they played The UC Theatre last night.
A Gary Numan concert is an immersive journey into electronic music. It’s an experience that combines powerful vocals, captivating stage presence, and stunning visuals, making an indelible impression that his fans can’t get enough of.
If you know his music only via his massive 80s hit “Cars“, then I’d encourage you to check out his more recent work to understand his evolution since those early genre-defining days. What started out as New Wave has now become much more Industrial, dark, and moody.
As a photographer and a fan, I get excited for every Gary Numan visit. The venue feels like it’s injected with pure electricity, and I can’t wait for him to return again.
Morgan Sorne (AKA SORNE) (the opener for the evening) was also a surprise. I’d not heard of him, but loved his solo performance with percussive drumming, layered keyboards, and beautifully crafted songs. It was the perfect amuse-bouche for the huge presentation that followed.
