The Mill Valley Music Festival returned for its third year this past weekend. Blessed with perfect weather, Marin’s breathtaking landscapes provided a stunning backdrop for two days of unforgettable music.
Singer Songwriter Meels kicked off the festival Saturday morning on the main stage. Followed by Danielle Ponder, with her powerhouse vocals and poignant lyricism, set the stage on fire with a soulful performance that left the audience spellbound and craving more. Next up, Fruit Bats enchanted listeners with their dreamy folk-pop melodies, creating an atmosphere of warmth and nostalgia that perfectly complemented the idyllic surroundings of Mill Valley. Thee Sacred Souls brought their signature blend of soul and funk to the stage, infusing the air with infectious grooves and irresistible rhythms that had everyone dancing along. The evening’s headliners Fleet Foxes delivered a mesmerizing performance that transported the audience to another world, weaving intricate harmonies and lush arrangements into a tapestry of sonic beauty that left an indelible mark on all who were lucky enough to witness it.
The energy continued into day two. Eric Lindell open up for the crowd. Followed by the legendary Rebirth Brass Band brought the spirit of New Orleans to Mill Valley, infusing their set with infectious energy and unstoppable grooves. St. Paul and the Broken Bones delivered a soul-stirring performance that showcased their dynamic stage presence and powerhouse vocals, captivating audiences with their electrifying blend of soul, funk, and R&B. Margo Price brought her heartfelt Americana sound to the festival, treating attendees to a set filled with raw emotion and authentic storytelling that resonated deeply with all who were present. Closing out the weekend in style, Greensky Bluegrass delivered a high-energy performance that had the entire crowd on their feet, blending traditional bluegrass instrumentation with modern sensibilities to create a sound that was as timeless as it was innovative.
