The 2025 season at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley kicked off in breathtaking fashion with a spellbinding performance by Elderbrook, setting a high bar for everything to come. The British multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter delivered a deeply immersive set that was both emotionally resonant and dancefloor-ready. Known for his introspective lyrics and genre-blending soundscapes, Elderbrook used his opening-night slot to create an intimate yet electrifying experience—an ideal choice to usher in the venue’s new season. His seamless blend of live vocals, analog synths, and rhythmic loops had the crowd moving from the first note, while the natural acoustics of the Greek gave his atmospheric tracks an added layer of depth.

Highlights of the night included his breakout hit “Cola,” which rippled through the amphitheater with hypnotic precision, as well as standout moments from his latest album Another Touch, which delves into themes of human connection and self-discovery. The audience—ranging from longtime fans to curious newcomers—was treated to a set that felt simultaneously introspective and communal, a hallmark of Elderbrook’s live ethos. Having toured with electronic heavyweights like Rüfüs Du Sol and Odesza, Elderbrook brought that same level of polish and emotional intensity to this special Bay Area show. It was more than just a concert; it was a ceremonious opening of the Greek’s 2025 calendar—a season that couldn’t have started on a more transcendent note.
