Bottom of the Hill featured three bands Saturday Night. San Francisco-based indie artist Maggie Gently started the night. Maggie Gently music is melody-driven and electric.
The night’s second performer was Canadian-based Thanya Iyer. Thanya Iyer is both a person and a band lead by lead vocalist, keyboardist and violinist of the same name, bassist Pompey and Daniel Gélinas on drums. The band’s sound infuses many genres including pop, jazz and orchestral experimentation into their music.
The Canadian indie rock band Land of Talk was the headliner and put on a great show. The band is led by singer, guitarist and chief songwriter Elizabeth Powell hailing from Montreal Canada. The band formed in 2006 and currently promoting 2023’s LP Performances. Land of Talk put on a great show telling band stories in between songs to a lot of laughter from the crowd. The stories and music together created a warm intimacy between the artist and the audience.
