In 2024, SF Live brought free live music to parks and plazas across San Francisco, collaborating with local venues and promoters to showcase a dynamic lineup of both local and touring performers. This year, SF Live began its season with SF Music Week, shining a spotlight on the city’s vibrant music scene. Musicians, clubs, and promoters came together for a series of events.
The week’s centerpiece was an all-day Industry Summit at The Swedish American Hall on February 28, 2025. The summit featured an impressive roster of speakers, including rapper and producer P-Lo, Penelope Houston of The Avengers, Bob Mould, and La Doña. Concert promoters Allen Scott (Another Planet Entertainment), Danny Bell (Goldenvoice), Michelle Swing (Noise Pop Industries), and David Kelly (Golden State Entertainment) shared insights, alongside venue representatives like Dan Strachota (Rickshaw Stop) and Austin Waz (The Kilowatt). San Francisco’s new mayor, Daniel Lurie, joined Jordan Kurland of Noise Pop Industries to discuss the city’s commitment to arts and music.
The week also included an Artist Development Day at Music City SF and live performances such as “Busk It,” a series of street shows. On March 1st, SF Live and Illuminate marked opening of the fifth season of the Golden Gate Bandshell concerts in Golden Gate Park with performances by Christie Aida & The Free Press Music and Batuki.
