beabadoobee (AKA Beatrice Kristi Laus) gave the Bay Area a treat last night. In her first headlining tour, she playfully bounced around The Regency Ballroom’s stage, accompanied by several piles of stuffed animals. She’s had a big year. Her sophomore album, Beatopia, came out in July and she’s been touring to support it for most of 2022. After the US, she goes on to conquer Europe – with stops in Germany, Italy, France, Brussels, and all over Scandinavia. Next, she’ll be opening for Taylor Swift in Las Vegas.
The crowd at The Regency made their appreciation for her known – loudly. There were lots of boy band type of shrieks and looks of absolute adoration all night. Towards the end of the show, she played maybe her most popular song – “Coffee” and ended the night with her other big hit “Cologne” from last year’s EP “Our Extended Play.”
Kicking off the night was Atlanta’s band Lowertown – where face painted lead singer Olivia Osby delivered a growling bubbling performance that set up beabadoobee perfectly.
