The UC Theatre in Berkeley hosted the second annual Homesick Festival toward the end of January. It was a fantastic event featuring bands from different genres and locales. Snail Mail and Deafheaven headlined the two day event—and both bands put on killer sets—but what really stood out was the opening acts. Varied in sound and energy, the opening acts brought something really special to the event. Ceremony founding member Anthony Anzaldo curated the fest bringing together a handful of really cool bands. While the Lilys and Fiddlehead stood out to us, it was hard not to be impressed with all of the bands that performed.
The Night One line up included Sheer Mag, Sunami, Lilys, Nuovo Testamento, Supercrush, Snail Mail; Night Two featured Fiddlehead, Tempers, Screaming Females, Spy, Margaritas Podridas, zzzahara, and Deafheaven.
