Raye brought her soulful, eclectic stylings to Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco last week for a packed out Popscene show. The talented singer-songwriter treated her Bay Area fans to tracks off her recently released debut LP My 21st Century Blues. Backed by a four-piece live band, Raye blazed through many of her slow burn jams like ‘Mary Jane’ and ‘Flip A Switch” with plenty of swagger to spare. It was her current hit ‘Escapism,’ though, that brought the house down. The night was an unforgetable SF debut for the the rising UK R&B star and marked the emergence of the newest buzzworthy performer.
Additional props to Mike Sabath & The Moongirls who opened the show in funky, glorious, high energy fashion befitting the rest of the night’s performance.
Raye’s My 21st Century Blues US tour continues through May.
