Brett Anderson is a bonafide rock star. What a showman!
The London Suede (or Suede as they are known to the world outside the US) are on a monster worldwide tour. They’ve been busy – played dates in Europe, Canada, the US and will finally be all over the UK through the end of March in 2023.
Their show at The Warfield on a rainy Monday night was a master class in what rock and roll should be. It was loud, in your face, emotional, euphoric. Brett stepped on stage – strutted and swaggered and thrilled the adoring crowd with a high energy barrage of hits that spanned their career – highlights were “She Still Leads Me On” and “Animal Nitrate” and “Beautiful Ones” (setlist).
Manic Street Preachers (The Manics) opened the show with their own hit laden, yet melancholic rumble. They played selections from across their 14 album career, including highlights from their newest one, “The Ultra Vivid Lament.”
